Are you looking for a partner who will take complete care of your heating oil tank? The Toptank carefree package provides the solution.
We take on all tasks: Tank cleaning, leak indicator, cathodic protection, level indicator, filling protection and burst protection.
In addition, our oil management system allows you to check the fill level anytime and anywhere (via PC or cell phone).
We are also happy to take care of the entire supply logistics for you. Contact us for details.
Oil filtration
We use our specialized oil filtration for refurbishments, tank overhauls (heavily contaminated oil) or for planned deactivation.
- The filter removes particles down to 2 micrometers.
- This prevents blockages in oil lines and burner nozzles. Residues are removed and the ageing process of the oil is delayed.
- The result is significantly increased operational safety for your burners and diesel vehicles
Product change
A product change requires a detailed due diligence check to ensure system safety. We check:
- The new product to be stored (compatibility)
- The condition of the tank coating (paint/special coating)
- - The condition of the entire piping system (dispensers, vapor recovery, venting)
To ensure a smooth process, it is essential to open and technically inspect the tank beforehand. We support you with this.
Leak Detection Devices
Leak detectors permanently monitor your tank system and alert you immediately in the event of leaks.
Monitoring types (maintenance every 2 years):
- Low vacuum: for leak protection linings (PVC inner liners)
- High vacuum: for storage of media with a flash point above 55°C
- Pressure base: for pipes and double-walled tanks with a flash point below 55°C (e.g. petrol)
- Liquid base: for critical tank shafts
The space between the double tank walls is constantly monitored. In the event of a leak, an optical and acoustic alarm is triggered immediately.
Good to know:
Service agreement: We offer a customized service agreement for the service required by law.
Cathodic protection systems
Cathodic corrosion protection (CCP) is an electrochemical process that reliably prevents rust formation. The system extends the service life of the oil tank and protects the environment.
Cathode protection
The technology of cathodic protection
Corrosion is caused by the flow of current from the metal (tank) to the electrolyte (soil/water). KKS reverses this process: By applying a targeted direct current (cathodic polarization) to the metal structure, the current flows from the electrolyte back to the tank. This stops the dissolution of metal particles and completely prevents corrosion.
Good to know
We recommend carrying out the KKS check together with the statutory service of the leak detector.
Level indicators
- Manual (dipstick): The most direct method, prescribed by law (except for small tank systems) and the basis for all other methods.
- Mechanical: Simple and inexpensive dial gauges. Not 100 % accurate.
- Electronic: Battery-operated, very accurate sensors (ultrasound/light).
You have three options for precise control of your heating oil level:
Have the measurement data sent to you via e-mail or SMS. Use our oil management system for location-independent queries.
Oil management
The intelligent oil management system offers digital transparency about the heating oil level in real time.
Oil management
We install an autonomous measuring system on your tank. It works completely without a power or telephone connection.
The system measures the fill level every five hours and regularly transmits the data to our server (winter: every three days; summer: every seven days).
Your benefit: You call up the heating oil level of your property around the clock and evaluate the consumption data. This function is ideal for precise heating cost billing.
The system actively supports your purchasing. You or persons selected by you (e.g. janitors) receive an automatic notification or text message when the fill levels reach 30% and later 15%. Forward this message directly to your supplier.
Overfill Prevention Devices
The electro-optical probes are your digital fill level limit. They are connected to the tanker and immediately trigger a pulse when the tank is full. This reliably prevents overfilling.
Alternative: A simple mechanical safety device is only recommended if filling with a tanker is not possible (e.g. mountain areas).
Bursting safety devices
Bursting safety devices
Burst protection (overpressure protection) is mandatory for cellar tanks. In addition to venting, this spring valve prevents the permissible test pressure in the tank from being exceeded.
Benefit:
- System protection: Prevents deformation or explosion due to overpressure.
- Environmental protection: Prevents oil leakage via the vent.
- Collecting: Escaping oil is directed into the drip tray in a controlled manner.

Frequently asked questions
When Do I Have to Arrange for an Internal Cleaning?
We recommend cleaning the inside every ten years.
Where can I find the date of the last revision?
The date of the last work can be found on the sticker on the tank compartment door.
Do I have to expect higher costs for an inspection in winter?
No. We create a temporary heating system free of charge.
What is the maximum number of liters that can be removed without additional costs?
We can temporarily store a maximum of 15,000 liters of oil for you.
Please give us as much information as possible about your heating oil stock. This is the only way we can plan the right tank trailer for temporary storage. The easiest way to determine the current oil level is directly with the dipstick.
